Day 24: Your favourite movie and what is it about?
Hey there you!
It’s Friday! Anyone got that Friday feeling? I do, no work for me this weekend! WOOO!
My favourite movie… I am going to steer clear of Harry Potter, because everyone knows what’s going on there? So… I am going to go Disney, so if I disappointed you I am sorry, but I am a massive Disney fan. I love Minions, I have a lot of minion stuff, that was either a gift or something I couldn’t resist.
Anyways, my favourite Disney film has to be Despicable me, I could watch it over and over again and find it just as funny as the first time I saw it. If you haven’t watched and like a bit of Animation, it’s amazing.
It starts off with the evil Dr. Gru, a tall, witch-nosed man. He is a villain, a bit of a contradiction to other Disney films, to start with the villain. But hey ho, he is on a quest to steal the moon, his arch nemesis, Vector is a younger and more modern criminal.
Gru acquires a shrink ray (for his new mission), with the help of his minions! Then Vector gets his hands on it. In an attempt to get it back, Gru spots three little girls, from an orphanage delivering cookies to Vector, Gru then adopts these girls for his shrink ray operation.
He is successful, a loving bond grows between Gru and the three girls, Margo, Edith and Agnes, they laugh, go to a carnival, Gru begins to really care for them! However Dr. Nefario (Gru’s work buddy/employee) believes Gru’s work is coming second to the girls, and has them shipped back to the orphanage.
Gru is miserable, but continues on with his evil mission, however Vector is in competition for the very same moon, except Vector has the three girls, captured on his evil flying automobile. Gru quickly realizes and tries to save the three girls. He catches both Edith and Agnes thousands of feet above ground.
But, Margo is too scared and doesn’t trust Gru entirely. Gru then promises to catch Margo, she jumps and starts to fall, Gru goes after her, eventually they freeze, dangling from a line of minions. Too cute!
The story is somewhat summed up at the end by Gru, reading a bedtime story to the girls.
Gru: [reading the book he wrote] One big unicorn, strong and free, thought he was happy as he could be. Then three little kittens came around and turned his whole life upside down. They made him laugh, they made him cry. He never should have said goodbye. And now he knows he can never part from those three little kittens that changed his heart.
An amazing film, for people who love Disney, don’t try to watch it with your boyfriend who gives you that ‘ugch’ face, anytime you mention a princess, watch it with a fellow fan.
Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading,
