The Yin-Yang of Life

Balance is important to everyone, so we feel human, having time to spend with friends and family, doing the things we love to do alongside having the money to it. I think we all go through a stage when we are working ourselves too hard, I went through that last year working 6 days a week, long shifts on my feet all day, when it got to my day off I spent it recovering, not enjoying myself.

Then there is our mental balance, having enough ‘me’ time to set our heads straight, whether it is painting your nails a pretty colour or having a lovely bath. We get so wrapped up in things that we forget to take care of ourselves, running ourselves down until there is nothing left in us. I love meditation, I have only got into it within the past year, I use guided ones on YouTube, they are great for a little revitalisation, ranging from 5 minutes to an hour or so, fitting into any time scale.

Keeping ourselves fit and healthy is another obstacle, for some they thrive when they are working out, for others it’s a chore, I like little and often, about ten minutes a day everyday, mostly working on my abs, as I do a lot of walking and stairs for my legs. I use this video Daily, I definitely feel the burn. I love food, including salad and vegetables, so my meals are quite balanced. I am quite good at avoiding sugary things and chocolate (unless I really need it!).
